2013 Humanism in Medicine Essay Contest: Antiretrovirals and Small Things

This year, the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Essay Contest asked students: “What do you think are the barriers to humanism in medicine today?” and “Who is the ‘good’ doctor?”

Ms. Versha Patel, a first-year student at Georgetown University School of Medicine, won 1st place with her essay, “Antiretrovirals and Small Things,” published in Academic Medicine‘s December issue.

Ms. Patel was kind enough to record her essay for us; listen below.
