Academic Medicine is seeking submissions for an upcoming collection focused on the current challenges to graduate medical education, and effective solutions for overcoming these challenges and optimizing the education of residents and fellows. With the recent release of the Institute of Medicine report Graduate Medical Education that Meets the Nation’s Health Needs, we are extending the deadline for submissions until September 2, 2014.
This extension is intended to allow time for submissions to incorporate discussion of the IOM report’s findings and recommendations. We note that digesting the findings and recommendations detailed in the 220-page report will take some time, and objective, scholarly assessments of the implications and potential paths forward will represent important contributions.
Please note, however, that this extension applies to all submissions to the call for papers for the Future of GME. Our goal is to publish a collection of articles that offer broad, robust discussions of all challenges facing GME. We look forward to reviewing your submissions!
Submissions are due September 2, 2014. For more information, read the complete call for papers.
